Vetalog Parenteral is a highly potent glucocorticoid that is effective as an anti-inflammatory and analgesic. A single injection is often sufficient to eliminate clinical signs.
Vetalog Parenteral reaches maximum effective levels in synovial fluid within 24 hours after intra-articular injection, rapidly reducing pain, inflammation, and swelling, while improving motion.
A wide range of dosage presentations optimizes treatment choices. Vetalog Parenteral may be injected intramuscularly, subcutaneously, intra-articularly, intrasynovially, or intralesionally.
Because Vetalog Parenteral is a Boehringer Ingelheim product, it’s sold only through licensed veterinarians.
Vetalog Parenteral should not be used to alleviate pain or reduce inflammation arising from infectious states unless concomitant antimicrobial therapy is given. Because of the anti-inflammatory action of corticosteroids, signs of infection may be hidden and it may be necessary to stop treatment until diagnosis is made. Do not use with viral infections.
